Data retention

After cancellation

Your data isn’t deleted the moment your account is locked. After the 30-day grace period expires, mizuiro retains all your company data for one full year.

During that year:

  • You can resubscribe at any time and immediately regain full access to everything, exactly as you left it.
  • No data is modified or deleted.
  • Your manager email address is reserved and cannot be used to register a new account.

After one year

After the one-year retention window closes, your data is permanently and irreversibly deleted from mizuiro’s servers. This includes all employee records, HR module data, settings, and billing history.

The deletion is complete. There is no recovery path after this point.

Warning
Export before you need to. If there’s any chance you’ll want your records later - for legal, regulatory, or reference purposes - export them before cancelling or during the grace period. Once the one-year window closes, the data is gone permanently. See Exporting your data for what’s available to export and how.

The full timeline

Stage Duration Access level
Active subscription Ongoing Full
Grace period 30 days after subscription ends Read-only
Locked, data retained Up to 1 year after grace period ends None (resubscribe to restore)
Data purged After 1 year Permanent, no recovery

What gets deleted

When the retention window closes, the deletion covers everything associated with your company:

  • All employees, supervisors, and their profile data
  • All HR module records (touchpoints, incidents, performance reviews, tasks, training, expenses, conferences, awards, kudos, presence records, and contacts)
  • All settings and module configuration
  • Billing and subscription history

What is kept

A minimal tombstone record is retained indefinitely so that audit log entries remain valid and your former email address can eventually be freed for re-registration. No HR or personal data is included in the tombstone.
