Billing

Why it’s priced this way

mizuiro is built for small and medium businesses, and the pricing reflects that. One flat fee, all features included, no per-seat charges.

Per-seat pricing is meant to make the bill grow as your team does, and we believe this model punishes exactly the type of growth you’re working toward. For a manager running a team of thirty people, the difference between a flat fee and a per-seat model isn’t marginal - it’s often the difference between a tool the business can afford and one it can’t.

We think good tools should be accessible to the businesses that need them most. A small team deserves the same capability as a large one. Keeping the price flat is how we make that work.

Your price is locked in. The price you pay today is the price you’ll pay a year from now. As our costs rise, we may adjust pricing for new customers, but we won’t raise prices on existing subscribers. The people who trusted us early shouldn’t be penalized for it.

As mizuiro grows, small improvements and new features will be added over time and included in your existing subscription at no extra cost. If we ever introduce something substantial enough to warrant an add-on, we’ll offer it as an optional extra - it will never be something that was previously included suddenly moved behind a higher tier.

Plans and pricing

mizuiro is available on two plans, both priced in Canadian dollars:

Plan Price
Monthly CA$49.95 per month
Annual CA$499.95 per year

The annual plan works out to just under CA$42 per month and is the better value if you’re planning to use mizuiro for the long term.

Tax is calculated automatically based on your billing address. Canadian customers will see the applicable GST, HST, or PST added at checkout.

Free trial

Every new mizuiro account starts with a 30-day free trial. You have full access to the entire app during the trial with no payment required. At the end of the trial, you can choose a plan and subscribe to continue. If you don’t subscribe, your account moves into a 30-day grace period.

Managing your subscription

All billing is handled by Stripe, one of the world’s most widely used payment processors. Your card details are entered directly on Stripe’s servers and never pass through mizuiro. We don’t store, see, or have access to your payment information at any point.

Subscription management is handled through a secure Stripe-hosted portal. To access it, go to Settings - Billing and click Manage subscription. From there you can:

  • Upgrade from monthly to annual billing
  • Update your payment method
  • View your invoice history and download receipts
  • Cancel your subscription

Upgrading from monthly to annual

You can switch from monthly to annual billing at any time from the subscription portal. When you upgrade mid-cycle, mizuiro credits the unused portion of your current monthly period and charges the prorated annual amount immediately. You won’t be double-charged for the overlap.

Downgrading from annual to monthly

Annual plans cannot be downgraded back to monthly billing. If you’re on an annual plan and monthly billing would suit you better, the option is to let the annual plan run to the end of its term and then choose the monthly plan when you resubscribe.

Cancelling your subscription

You can cancel at any time from the subscription portal. Cancelling schedules the cancellation for the end of your current billing period - your access continues as normal until that date, and you won’t be charged again.

When the billing period ends, your account moves into a 30-day grace period.

The grace period

The grace period gives you 30 days of read-only access after your subscription ends, whether that’s from a cancellation, a failed payment, or a trial that expired without subscribing.

During the grace period:

  • You can view all your records, reports, and employee data.
  • You can export your data.
  • You can resubscribe at any time to restore full access immediately.
  • You cannot create, edit, or delete any records.

After 30 days, your account is locked and you’ll need to resubscribe to regain access.

Resubscribing

You can resubscribe at any time during the one-year retention window from Settings - Billing. Full access is restored immediately on payment, and all your data will be exactly as you left it.

If you resubscribe after the one-year window has passed and your data has been purged, a new account will start fresh with no previous data.

Payment failures

If a scheduled payment fails, your account moves to a past-due state and Stripe will automatically retry the charge over the following days. Your access remains read-only during this time. If the retries are unsuccessful, the account moves into the grace period.

To resolve a payment failure, go to Settings - Billing - Manage subscription and update your payment method. Access is restored as soon as a payment succeeds.
